Pippali, also known as Piper Longum or Indian long pepper fruit, holds a prominent place as a widely utilized herb in Ayurveda. While it serves as a culinary spice in specific cultures, it stands alongside its more renowned relative, black pepper. Pippali is a key ingredient in various traditional Ayurvedic formulations, including churnas, asavas, aristhas and even classical jams. It is known to support the respiratory, nervous, circulatory, reproductive and digestive systems. Specifically having a stimulating and rejuvenating affiliation to the lungs. Allowing to cleanse toxins out from the body it has been used to treat congestion, coughs, common colds, asthma and chronic or degenerative lung diseases.
Dosage recommendation: 10 – 30 drops at a time, up to three times a day
Lovely taken on its own, or paired nicely when mixed in water, tea, juices, broths, soups, stews and even salad dressings
